Night of the Living Dead (N.L.D.) you know that black and white classic where slow walking denizens of the night stumbled about seeking brains. I watched that and have only had one thought ever since 'Why did the black guy have to die?' lol
Well since then there's been scores of Zombie movies. Scores is probably the wrong term anyway, hundreds? Anyway , personally I always thought zombie movies or media had a simple premise. Easily explained antagonist. Totally mindless and a perfect target for ammo fire. Yet I've been religiously watching AMC's 'Walking Dead' based on the popular comic book of the same name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Walking_Dead I've tried to keep up with the comic reading it in sparse lately. But what I figure is the key to a good Zombie movie is not the gore content but the characters that you become attached to. That should be obvious right? Yes but most of the movies I've seen before this gem on AMC, has been more of a fear or squeamish factor. Splatter fest generally. The characters and storylines in Walking Dead are riveting. So I wish the best for this series at this writing is wrapping up their first season. No offense George Romero your N.L.D. will always be classic.
